Appalachia: Variations on an Old Slave Song (Frederick Delius)
Under the direction of Tiffany Lu, the University of Florida Symphony Orchestra performs a wide variety of orchestral repertoire, including traditional orchestral and choral masterworks, ballets and operas, as well as contemporary compositions. It is dedicated to the learning of symphonic music through performance and is equally committed to the promotion of new and contemporary works as well as overlooked works from the past. The Concert Choir is the premier choral ensemble in the School of Music. Directed by Dr. Will Kesling, the Concert Choir has performed with the San Diego Symphony, National Philharmonic (Washington, D.C.), Czech National Orchestra and the Czech National Theater Orchestra, as well as the Kronos String Quartet. The Gainesville Master Chorale, whose performances frequently feature major choral masterworks with orchestral musicians, celebrated its landmark 50th anniversary in 2026. The Master Chorale periodically collaborates with other performing organizations such as members of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, The University of Florida Symphony Orchestra, and Dance Alive National Ballet, among others.
