About the event

We appreciate the great response to all of our Tuesday lunch concerts. Today would have closed out the series with Ruth Lewis and the music of the harpsichord. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ruth is not able to play today. We hope to have her here in the future.

Please join us for lunch with our sincere apologies! Although we can't supply music, we can offer free lunch and fellowship at 12:15 in Gordon Hall. February 25 Lunch Menu: Chicken Salad and Egg Salad Sandwiches, SweetBerries Gorgonzola Salad, Chips, Montreat Cherry & Key Lime Pie, Water, and Lemonade.

Ruth Lewis will perform a recital of harpsichord music both old and new. In addition to works you might expect to hear from Baroque composers Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, and Couperin, she will also introduce you to some delightful 20th-century pieces, including a tango featuring guest dancers!

Ruth Lewis holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in organ performance from the University of Florida where she studied organ and harpsichord with Willis Bodine.  She maintains a private piano teaching studio in Gainesville and has been actively performing as pianist, organist, harpsichordist, chamber musician, and choral director for over 50 years.  Ruth is the founding Artistic Director and Conductor of Voices Rising Community Chorus, an intergenerational chorus that welcomes adult and youth singers age 8 and up.  In 2019 she was honored as Musician of the Year by the Foundation for the Promotion of Music.
